    Spinal Decompression Therapy

This therapy is a non-surgical answer for disc related syndromes of your lumbar or cervical spine. We believe the Triton® DTS Spinal Decompression Therapy System manufactured by Chattanooga, Inc. to be one of the most advanced, non-surgical and cost-effective alternatives available today. The Triton® DTS is FDA cleared and spinal decompression therapy has been clinically proven with a very effective success rate for pain associated vertebral disc syndromes, pain in the low back and neck, sciatica, pinched nerves and bulging, "slipped", or degenerative disc problems...even after surgery has failed.

So what is the difference between the DRX9000 and the Triton® DTS?

In my opinion, and as far as my patients are concerned, the price.

The FDA’s classification and common name for both the DRX9000 and the Chattanooga Triton® DTS, as shown at the FDA's website, http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/pdf5/K053223.pdf. This is one of the main points I based my decision on to purchase the Triton® DTS over the DRX9000.

Granted the DRX9000 is gorgeous and it comes with all kinds of bells and whistles. It also comes with a tremendous price tag. The Triton® DTS costs 1/10th of what the DRX9000 does. However, when I chose the Triton® DTS over the DRX9000, it wasn't because of what it would cost me, but rather what it would cost my patients. I prefer to find ways to offer services for a reasonable fee than be forced to charge thousands and thousands of dollars to cover the cost of my overhead. Again, my opinion.

For most patients we recommend 25-28 sessions; 3x/wk for the first four weeks, then gradually reduce care as the condition improves. The cost per session is $90, including all necessary therapies, rehabilitative exercises, and spinal adjustments during the treatment protocol. Insurance does not cover the spinal decompression service but in most cases will cover the adjustments, therapies and rehabilitative care, reducing your out of pocket expense even more. Patients will pay for a block of visits, but always have the option to stop if they feel the service is not benefitting them and will receive a refund for any care not received. We offer treatment for both the cervical and lumbar spine, the price is the same.

    Corrective Traction (CBP Therapy)

Sometimes exercises and adjustments are not enough. If there is abnormality in the patient’s neck or low back curvature, it doesn’t matter how often they get adjusted, get massages or exercise, in most cases their relief will remain short-term because their underlying spinal structure will remain uncorrected. Our office is one of only a handful in the greater Charlotte region which is properly trained and certified to provide ideal correction to a patient’s spinal structure through Chiropractic Biophysics Technique.

    Treatment for Peripheral Neuropathy

Peripheral neuropathy, in its most common form, causes pain and numbness in your hands and feet. The pain typically is described as tingling or burning, while the loss of sensation often is compared to the feeling of wearing a thin stocking or glove. Peripheral neuropathy can result from such problems as traumatic injuries, infections, metabolic problems and exposure to toxins. One of the most common causes of the disorder is diabetes. Another indicator of peripheral neuropathy is the presence of statin drugs in the body, often taken to help lower cholesterol.

To help in the diagnosis, we utilize very specific neurological and physical exam protocols which involve checking your ability to feel certain sensations, your tendon reflexes, your posture and coordination, and your muscle strength and tone.

Treatment is very effective and includes Anondyne infrared laser therapy, use of oxygen therapy, vibration therapy, specific spinal adjustments and exercise instruction. Typically results are seen in as little as 5-10 visits with a normal improvement achieved within 20 visits.

    Corrective Exercises

We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises designed just for them to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction by as much as 30-40%. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.  For more information on Corrective Care please click this link.
